CURA ProCare Boll Weighted duvet

To protect your blanket, we recommend using the CURA ProCare Hygiene Cover. The hygiene cover is fully waterproof and features eight attachment points that prevent the weighted blanket from shifting inside.

CURA ProCare Boll is stitched in a grid pattern, with the weight provided by balls made of silicone and polypropylene that are sewn into rows. Each ball has its own pocket and is surrounded by a protective fabric layer. This keeps the balls securely in place and prevents them from coming into contact with each other, eliminating rustling or other disturbing noises. The balls are manufactured using environmentally friendly methods and are free from harmful additives.One side of the blanket is reinforced with polyester wadding to create an even more evenly distributed pressure and a softer feel. By turning the other side toward the body, you instead experience a distinct yet comfortable point pressure from the balls. ProCare Boll contains no steel or other hard materials, making it safe to use even if you have implanted medical devices such as a pacemaker.

Being embraced by the heavy blanket can help you feel relaxed, as the pressure against the body triggers the release of the calming hormone oxytocin. In addition to improved sleep quality, the sensory-stimulating and enveloping properties can provide a sense of security and help relieve worry, stress, and anxiety.

The weight you should choose depends on the purpose of using your weighted blanket. If the goal is increased relaxation or winding down, a lighter weight is sufficient to achieve the desired effect. For more significant sleep issues, stress, worry, or anxiety, heavier weights are recommended for optimal results. The appropriate weight may vary depending on each individual’s needs and age.When choosing a weighted blanket for a child, it is important to ensure that the child has the motor ability to remove the blanket independently. We do not recommend weighted blankets for children under 3 years of age. You can use ProCare Boll either instead of or together with a regular duvet. It can also be placed over specific parts of the body, such as the shoulders or knees. The blanket can be especially helpful for winding down and preparing for a good night’s sleep.If you have never used a weighted blanket before, we recommend starting with short periods of use and gradually increasing the time. The blanket can be machine washed at 60°C. We recommend using a gentle cycle to maximize its lifespan. Many washing machines have a maximum capacity of 6 to 8 kg, but all CURA ProCare Boll blankets weighing over 8 kg are equipped with zippers that allow the blanket to be divided so the sections can be washed separately. The ball blanket can be tumble dried or air-dried, either hanging or laid flat. It should also be aired regularly. Freezing the blanket is also effective—either by placing it in a freezer or hanging it outdoors in sub-zero temperatures—as this helps eliminate dust mites.

The ProCare Boll weighted blanket is CE-marked as a medical device, certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, and meets fire safety requirements in accordance with SS 8760001 for healthcare beds. This ensures that both the manufacturing process and the product itself meet high standards for health, safety, functionality, environmental impact, and working conditions.

The ProCare Boll weighted blanket should be used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with the guidance provided at the time of purchase. The blanket must not be heavier than what the user can manage independently.
