CURA ProCare Pearl is a medical-grade weighted blanket designed to help you relax and unwind before bedtime, improving the conditions for better sleep. The blanket measures 150×210 cm and is available in different weights ranging from 4 to 16 kg, with blankets over 8 kg being split for easier handling. The outer fabric of the blanket is flame-retardant, and the filling consists of cotton wadding, resulting in excellent breathability. Along with the cotton wadding are small silica beads that provide the blanket’s weight. Silica has a naturally cooling effect, helping to maintain a comfortable sleeping temperature. The wadding and beads are sewn into a grid pattern, ensuring that the weight is evenly distributed across the blanket and delivers a continuous, gentle pressure against your skin.

Being embraced by the heavy blanket can help you relax, as the pressure against the body triggers the release of the calming hormone oxytocin. In addition to improved sleep quality, the sensory-stimulating and enveloping properties can provide a sense of security and help relieve worry, stress, and anxiety.
The weight you should choose depends on the purpose of using your weighted blanket. If the goal is increased relaxation or winding down, a lighter weight is sufficient to achieve the desired effect. For more significant sleep issues, stress, worry, or anxiety, heavier weights are recommended for optimal results. Recommended weight may vary depending on individual needs and age. When choosing a weighted blanket for a child, it is important to ensure that the child has the motor ability to remove the blanket independently. Weighted blankets are not recommended for children under 3 years of age. Please contact CURA for guidance, as each individual should be assessed separately when selecting weight.
You can use ProCare Pearl either instead of or together with a regular duvet. It can also be placed over specific parts of the body, such as the shoulders or knees. The blanket can also be helpful when winding down and preparing for sleep. If you have never used a weighted blanket before, we recommend starting with short periods of use and gradually increasing the time. The adjustment period varies from person to person. CURA ProCare Pearl is not compatible with CURA’s standard duvet covers and should not be used with regular covers. The blanket is only compatible with the CURA ProCare Hygiene Cover, which is specially designed for this product.
The blanket can be machine washed at 60°C. We recommend using the included laundry bag during washing to minimize wear on both the blanket and the washing machine. For maximum longevity, use a gentle cycle. Many washing machines have a maximum load capacity of 6–8 kg, but all CURA ProCare Pearl blankets weighing over 8 kg are equipped with zippers that allow the blanket to be divided, and the sections should be washed separately. Do not use a tumble dryer. Instead, air-dry the blanket by hanging it or laying it flat. The blanket should also be aired regularly. Freezing the blanket—either in a freezer or outdoors in sub-zero temperatures—can help eliminate dust mites.
The ProCare Pearl weighted blanket is CE-marked as a medical device, certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, and meets fire safety requirements in accordance with SS 8760001 for healthcare beds. This ensures that both the production process and the product itself meet high standards for health, safety, functionality, environmental impact, and working conditions.
The ProCare Pearl weighted blanket should be used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with the guidance provided at the time of purchase. The blanket must not be heavier than what the user can manage independently. If you suffer from severely reduced heart or lung function, impaired muscle function, or increased sensitivity to pressure sores, you should consult your doctor or another qualified medical professional before purchasing.
