CURA of Sweden has a long-term ambition to improve the public health by helping people to healthy sleep. In this mission, we tie bands and listen to authorities in the academic world. We collaborate with professors, doctors, scientists and therapists that stands behind our work.

Markku Partinen
"The weighted duvet can improve sleep health and release restlessness”
Professor Markku Partinen is a specialist in neurology and specializes in sleep medicine. Among other things he has been President of the World Sleep Medicine Association and runs the most internationally acclaimed sleep clinic in Finland.
"Studies show that a weighted duvet in many cases helps people who suffer from various sleep problems. In Sweden, weighted duvets have been used in healthcare for 15 years. For example, towards children with neuropsychiatric disabilities. A study regarding the effect of the weighted duvet has been initiated in Finland, and we look forward to seeing the results of what the duvet can do to improve sleep health. Using a weighted duvet is a completely harmless method that we want to explore further.”
Markku Partinen,
Professor and specialist in neurology.
Region Västernorrland has done a study of 3O shift-working ambulance drivers to evaluate how the CURA weighted duvet affected their sleep. The results showed that 73 % of the participants had improved sleep. The study showed that various aspects of sleep were affected by the use of weighted duvet and the biggest difference was shown in the ability to maintain sleep.
Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset has done a controlled study of 199 patients aimed to evaluate the clinical use of weighted duvets for insomnia. The results showed that the use of weighted duvets reduced the median time to fall asleep from 7O to 3O minutes and led to a significant improvement in ten other sleep-related symptoms. The patients using weighted duvets stated by a self-rating scale that they got better sleep and were more alert the next day. In addition, their anxiety and worry quieted. After one year the positive effects on sleep were still maintained.
Uppsala universitet has begun a study aimed to evaluate the effects of weighted duvets from CURA of Sweden, led by Professor Kerstin Uvnäs Moberg and sleep researcher Christian Benedict. Various variables will be analysed such as sleep time, deep sleep and hormone levels. The weighted duvets effect on heart rate will also be investigated.
