CURA Flannel Weighted Blanket Dark Brown

The CURA Flannel Weighted Blanket is what you reach for when the evenings turn dark and the apartment air starts to feel a little crisp. Its dense, brushed flannel surface has the kind of plush, hand-warming softness that makes it almost impossible to leave the sofa, while its 6 kg weight provides the steady, calming pressure that makes weighted blankets a staple of modern sleep wellness.

The two sides of this blanket are different. The front is brushed flannel with a plush, soft pile, while the reverse is a smooth, flat fabric without pile — so it feels different depending on which side faces you. Choose whichever you prefer against your skin. The layered construction traps body heat without becoming heavy or stuffy, and inside, glass beads and polyester fibre give the blanket its 6 kg weight, evenly distributed through quilted compartments.

Where lighter weighted blankets are made for year-round use, Flannel was designed with autumn and winter in mind. It pairs well with a thinner duvet during the coldest months, or replaces it entirely on milder nights. On the sofa during evenings of films, reading, or quiet wind-down, it doubles as the kind of throw you don't want to share.

Weighted blankets use a principle known as deep pressure stimulation (DPS) — gentle, evenly distributed weight across the body. DPS is associated with a shift in the autonomic nervous system from a stress-dominant state to a rest-dominant state, which can slow the heart rate, ease muscle tension, and make falling asleep feel less effortful.

CURA of Sweden recommends a weighted product equivalent to 10–15% of your body weight. The Flannel Weighted Blanket is 6 kg, well-suited for adults weighing approximately 40–60 kg. For heavier sleepers, the Pearl Classic range offers weights up to 16 kg. A weighted blanket is not recommended for children under 3 years.

Use it as a calming throw on the sofa during the evening to mark the transition from day to wind-down. Drape it over your duvet during the colder months for additional pressure and warmth. Wrap it around your shoulders during reading, journaling, or after a long day outside.

Available in Beige, Dark Brown, and Dark Grey — each chosen to complement the muted, earthy palette of contemporary Scandinavian interiors. Beige reads soft and neutral; Dark Brown adds richness and depth; Dark Grey settles into more architectural, minimalist rooms.

Filling: glass beads and polyester fibre. Outer fabric: flannel and microfiber in 100% polyester. Filling weight: 5000 g. Hand wash only — do not tumble dry, dry clean, bleach, or iron at high temperatures. The flannel surface stays softest when air-dried flat away from direct sunlight.
